Monday night after an exciting weekend… We had Kathryn and Chris stop up for a few hours, Neal and Tim spending the entire weekend with us, Taylor going out to dinner, and venturing down to DC on the Metro train system for a couple museums and lunch.
We went from that non-stop weekend straight into our weekday wind and grind. Once things slowed down tonight Taylor and I just laid in bed. It felt awesome to have some “us” time, so we took full advantage of it. We laid back and RELAXED. I’m just now crawling into bed to write the day’s update so I am going to make it brief.
Today Taylor did wound care, physical therapy, mail, lunch, prosthetic fitting, occupational therapy, catheter out, nap, venturing outside, hanging with friends on the porch, and relaxation time. By now everyone is probably fully aware of most of those activities so I will touch on the one that is a little atypical.
Taylor got his catheter out tonight. It was getting to the point where the doctors would either have to change it out for a new catheter or take it out so Taylor could do his thing. We opted out for trying to take it out and let nature take its course. Another tube out and one step closer to out patient!!
I've been coming to see your entries since the day you started, and I'm just amazed at the spirit and will that Taylor, his family, and of course you D- have shown in both action and deed.
I was a Navy physician, and I can imagine how loved you all are. What an amazing young man, what an amazing clan.
It used to be VERNORS.
Dr. Pepper is a great "inspirer" when a cath first comes out.
Taylor you are making great progress. Keep up the good work.Still praying for you.
