Tuesdays= Swimming and Kayaking
We are still working on finding the easiest way for Taylor to paddle while kayaking. As we try new prosthetics, devices, and techniques you could see the frustration on Taylor’s face. I know he just wants to be able to hit the open waters and feel the speed build with each stroke of the paddle but these frustrations are a part of figuring our new way of life.
After strapping different paddles, duct taping foam, and trying out various kayaks, I think Taylor thoroughly enjoys stripping himself of all the duct tape and prosthetics to go for a swim. I enjoy splashing around in the water and goofing off with him.
We started chatting about how fun it would be to speed through the water on a dolphin’s back. One thing lead to another and….
Tonight Taylor, Ben, and I went out for Mexican. YUMMY!! Everyone was raving about how awesome their food was until Ben decided to eat a spicy spicy jalapeno. It was one of those things where you could feel his pain but couldn’t help but laugh as he was panicing. We are going to miss Ben’s entertaining personality when he leaves for Cedar Falls, IA in a few days.
After dinner we picked up some pumpkins for carving and Halloween decorations. I told the boys repeatedly how excited I was to get back to the apartment, clean, and put up all the decorations. They were more excited for root beer floats.
